I used to love Airfix as a kid and I must have received dozens of Spitfire kits as gifts from the family. So, as a tribute to all the painstaking hours spent gluing my fingers together, getting paint on the carpet, and the unfortunate few that never made it to being hung from my bedroom ceiling having been accidentally sat on, I decided to make a 3D facsimile. Alongside my Aston Martin model, I created this to practice my vehicle modelling with another iconic piece of design and engineering. I used an acrylic post-processing filter in the render to evoke that sense of molded plastic combined with the technical diagrams of an instructions set.
