The Aston Martin DB5 must be one of the most instantly recognisable classic cars…in the world (bonus Jeremy Clarkson reference)! It’s also a personal favourite. I’d been wanting to do some realistic vehicle modelling for a while, to bolster my portfolio and for fun, so the DB5 seemed like a perfect subject. It’s been a bit of a challenge, there’s barely a straight line on the DB5 and every little curve is as important as the next to bring that timeless form to life. A particular point of complexity has been the topology flow around the headlights and front grill, but after a few reworks, I feel I’ve made great progress with the model. Here’s a quick WIP render.
